IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE!!

September 28, 2012

Hello Friends and Customers,

As you may know, my mission for eCycle For Hope has been “To provide a recycling service that helps to feed the community.”

I have been thrilled with the thousands of pounds of e-waste we correctly recycled and the thousands of pounds of food we collected for those in need in our community.  I could not have done it without all of you putting your trust in me.  Thank you very much for helping me and the program develop and grow!

I am writing to let you know that I have recently started working for an organization that literally “feeds the community.”  I am now the eCycling Coordinator for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Madison.

St. Vincent de Paul, a charity well-known in Dane County for its six great thrift stores, operates the area’s largest food pantry – serving 22,000+ local households per year -- and provides many other forms of direct assistance to local people in need.  I am pleased to say that the e-waste collection program that has been eCycle For Hope is being integrated into the broader materials-collection efforts of St. Vincent de Paul – Madison.

We’re working out details of how our e-waste-recycling program will work at St. Vincent de Paul, but many aspects of the program you’re familiar with at eCycle For Hope will remain, including:

  • Providing certification of destruction-lot numbers
  • Sending all computers to our R2 e-Steward partnering company for complete hard-drive destruction
  • Scheduled pick-ups of items from your Dane County home or business
  • Reusing or refurbishing items (excluding computers) that can still benefit others
  • Supporting e-waste collection at local meetings and events

As our e-waste program develops at St. Vincent de Paul, I am confident we’ll be able to accept even more items from you than eCycle For Hope could.  I’ll plan on being back in contact with you about our program at St. Vincent de Paul as it evolves.  In the interim, I hope you won’t hesitate to contact me just to stay in touch or to discuss your request for e-waste pick-up through St. Vincent de Paul.

Sincerely,

Marianne Gariti

eCycling Coordinator
